3 Faces of Evil - A start into the depths

Episode 1: Dec 13, 2007

The Ebon Triad had taken over the mine and were in the midst of preparing some form of ritual. Smenk goes on to tell the party that he was really scared of what was goin on in the mine and he thinks that the party would be the best bet to stopping the growing evil. They could be the heroes of the town's welfare once again. He says that he has a plan to get them in the mine, then they would be on their own.



After much debating and then equipping, including the newly appointed member of their group Brother Amon Beldane who will replace teh 'called the a higher cause' former slerical member (His high priest had been assassinated) the party make their way to the Dourstone mine disguised as a Free City mining repair team coming to repair to 'opportunistic' mine shaft backblow that has occurred. Once inside, they quickly make for the elevator and begin their descent. At the bottom of the elevator, the view opens up to a huge elaborate cathedral like shringe with 3 doors on the West, North, and South walls.


Suddenly 2 tiefling attack !!!


1 of them bravely holds off the party as the other scatters towards the East door. Once there he knocks on it and then goes through and allows another to enter the fray. The party quickly dispatch the guards, as the rogue investigates alone more of the corridors and door of Vecna symbol (Why he wants to go off alone within the supposed undead ridden uncharted labyrinth of passages and caverns is beyond me which is probably why he hit a trap that disintegrated him, rematerialised him within a dark a solid pool of balcness...THE COLD OOHH GOD THE COLD THE PAIN and then DARKNESS!!!) After seeing their rogue comrade thrown out of the churning pool of darkness ceovered ina dark slime and seemingly statue like, they eventually revived him but noticing that he didnt seem as dextrous as before PERMANENTLY and make their way to the East door that shows a picture of the emblem of Hextor upon it. Once through they are assaulted from all sides by skeletons. The new cleric quickly blows through them with a couple well rolled turn attempts. The party is then again confronted by a raggle of zealots and teiflings. A huge battle commences but turns in the party's favor as they methodically cut down their opponents. Unfortunately 3 got away and took off down the central corridor, passing through the large set of double doors,as the party were preoccupied by a large direboar. The new cleric, rogue and mage all fell to the onslaught. Well timed hits from the fighter and archer finally felled the beast. They eventually brougth back from the brink of darkness their fallen comrades and readied themselves towards the central corridor.

Cooler heads prevailed...and searches of the nearby rooms yeilded some monetary recompensation. They also are unable to leave throught he door as the stone slab seems unyeilding to their attempts to open or move it. A well placed electrical trap also puts the rogue on edge. Further investigations of their surroundings allows the elven archer to discover a secret door to the right of the main double doors.

What lies within the secret door ?

What mysteries and danger await our valiant heroes deeper into the chambers ?
