3 Faces of Evil

3 Faces of Evil - '' Better believe thats a paddlin' !! ''

Episode 2: January 8, 2008

Our heroes find that the stone slab, over the main entrance, has been removed. They quickly make sure the elevator room is clear of enemies, search the platforms around the dark pool, and make camp for some much needed rest. Surprisingly, there is no encounter over the night. In the morning, the cleric tries to heal and restore the rogue, archer and fighter but for some reason, his affiliation to Pelor is dampened. His spells dont act out as powerfully as they should.

They then move back into the themple of Hextor and make their way back down the hidden passage they found the day before. After some futile searching, they found a corridor, on the other side of a door, that had a solid wall of darkness...A darkness that started making its way towards them. They were saved by the quick thinking rogue who closed the door on the darkness. Eventually, once all the testicular fortitude was found, the door was reopened to behold an empty corridor with a door at the far end and 1 midway along on the right. The party immediatly went to the door on the right and opened it to view a small room that had some minor weapons in it. As they stood transfixed byt the mundality of things, the corridor, once again, became cloaked in darkness. The wizard, who had not ventured forth to the room, stood transfixed, as he could no longer SEE, or HEAR the plight of his comrades.

With heart in throat and discretion thrown aside, the dwarven fighter spurred himself forwards through the darkness towards the door now shrouded in gloom. Along the way he was bustled aside by the rogue, who was quickly getting to the rear of the party to make sure the backend was clear of danger. As the fighter found the door and walked through, he was assailed from all sides. Surviving these unnaturally quiet and non viewable attacks, he took one more step forward, attacked a creature he could not see, dealing a great blow, didnt hear a grand solilloquy of doom and gloom by a non-seeable cleric of Hextor, and was smoten as only a BBEG can smite !!!. Eventually, the cleric acertained, from the retreating rogue, that the fighter had indeed ventured forth down the corridor. Not to leave his comrade alone to face the unknown, he too ventured forth after yelling for everyone to come on !! Only the rogue heard the commands..The archer had shot a couple of arrows into the darkness and had retreated along the wall and emerged out of the darkness and saw, and heard, the mage who waited patiently for any sign of his comrades. They both turned and watch, and waited, the dark and menacingly silent corridor for any sign from their comrades.

The cleric finally made his way into the next room and out of the darkness. Not only could he see what was going on but he could hear the horror that quickly befell his way. He was being hit from all sides by some form of zombie lackey. Lackey of 2 massive clerics of Hextor who looked upon him and his symbol of Pelor with a frothing of the mouth and hungry look in their dark menacing eyes..He gave a brief inner thought to Pelor as he spied the body of his dwarven fighter companion lying in a heap in the corner. His anger grew and he readied his action to exact some holy Pelorian revenge upon these evil creatures for the dark deeds they had perpetrated this day. Then he was critted and became obliterated

Some time went by and the lights and sounds came back, as well as voice, that seemed to melt out of the darkness. ''Come out come out wherever you are...We grow tired of this..Be done with it and you''..This was cleverly respondid to by the archer. Not knowing what to expect, the archer, mage, and rogue ventured down the corridor unto a scene a dispicable horror. Their cleric and fighter both down in ragged heaps in the corner. Blood and tissue and unmentionalbe substances splewn across the walls. They then got a good glimpse at their assailants. Garass, a huge beast with a satisfying grin on his face as he licked the blood of the cleric off of the blades of his flail. And Kendra, a womanly cleric who was tracing the blood on the slefdrenched clerics armor. They gasp as she lifted her fingers to her mouth and greddily sucked her fingers, as a newborn away for too long form his mothers teat.

Out of the walls another voice echoed

''You cant even stop my playing things and yet you are here to try and stop me and our plans !!!..Nonsense. Begone with thee..Come back when you believe to be fit and able to pass these tests..Garras, Kendra..Leave this rabble to themselves !!''

A mist quickly obscures all sight. Once it disapates, the room is empty of all items and creatures except for the bodies of the dwarven fighter and cleric. The mage checks on the bodies of his fallen comrades and is taken back in surprise as he exclaims that the dwarf is only rendered unconcious. Alas there is nothing that can be done for the cleric

All of a sudden a warmign glow exhibits from the body of the cleric. A glow that continues to grow in brilliance until the party members must shield their eyes and squint. As quickly as it began, it is gone. All the members feel refreshed and in a state of relaxation. They turn to look at each other in disbelief as the cleric is, once again, amongst the living. Pelor, it seems, is not done with this one !!

Can the heroes recover form this grave set back ?

Will the echoing laughter of Garras and Kendra spur the heroes to victory, of some sort ?

How will the cleric react knowing he has been ripped out of the warming embrace of his allmighty, only to try to help the party rid this evil ?

stay tuned
