Water Elemental and ghouls, ohh my !!

Episode 2: Oct 18, 2007

As the party regrouped the next morning, they ventured further down the desolate corridor. They came across some stairs that headed down into avery dark and murky water. Using a sunrod, they were able to discern a huge room completely submerged by the water. Bravely, our hero elf got volunteered to go into the water and explore the cold wet depths.

As he ventured forth, within minutes he was assaulted by waves and his torch was ripped from his hands. Alone, in the dark depths, he waited to see what happened. A couple of minutes later, the rest of the party pullout of the submerged room, the unconcious body of the elf. After being revived, they sent him in again. A couple of minutes later, they pulled him out again. They sent him in again. They later pulled him out again. Finally realising the folly of this approach, they tied themselves to each other and ALL ventured into the water where they encountered a very angry yet disbelieving water elemental. Only their combined might fell this foe !!! They then were accosted by a watery ghoul, that the elf had previously encountered in his watery sojourn previous. This ghoul made quick work of the cleric, then the dwarven fighter, then the mage and even the elven archer !!! Was this to the total demise of the heroes ?? Alas no as out of nowhere, the quick thinking rogue realised he was a rogue and used his class abilities to sidestep, roshambeau and evade the ghoul. Here he combined his attacks with that of the recovering mage and they slew the undead tormentor.

The survivors quickly made their way back out of the water, rested, and looted the now-deserted underwater rooms. They had finally found the last lamp. Making their way back up to the sarcaphogus room, they lit all the lamps, climbed the chain, and proceeded down the corridor to a huge 'face in the wall' that was opening for them. Through this yawning mouth, they made out another room. A platform traversed its center, with spheres iron balls comprising its flooring. They made their way across the platform, but found no way to open the stone door on the other side. The rogue jumped down onto the uneven surface of the rooms floor, foudn soem interesting objects, awoke the hidden beasty, who reared mightily and started stalking the party. A voice came out of nowwhere and started stating facts like:

'Ohh you have woken him..this ought to be interesting' 'I would watch out if I were you'

At the same time, iron balls have started being fired from out of the honeycombs walls on either side of the crosswalk.

Will the heroes discover the hidden truths ? Will they be able to conquer this new terror ? and just what is this taunting all about anyway ?? These answers and much more in the next episode !!!!
