The Champion's Belt

The Champion's Belt - Exploring into the unknown

Episode 4: Nov 25th, 2009

Further spelunking brought the party to another empty chamber that had nothing but a shallow stream heading off to the west. As the party made their way downt he stream, it became apparnet that this was used as a dumping hole for bodily functions. Gasping, and finding it difficult to breathe, the party finally found a larger chamber pot room. Here debris and flotsam was everywhere as well as greta amounts of smelly slime. A chute 15 feet up attracted their attention. The tried to rig up some pitons and rope in order to climb through the poop encrusted shute but wer having much difficulty breathing and stabilising themselves. They evnetually gave up and fleed from the scene.

They decided to venture back to the Kennoeby and find Belgrim, who they hoped could help them discover how to gain entrance to a hidden middle chamber or area under the Kennoeby. They spent more time searching for the start of the poopchute but were unable to find any evidence of its existance. As they made their way up 1 level towards the kitchen where they previously talked to Belgrim, they found more guards roaming and patrolling. Realising they werent supposed to be roaming and risking disqualification, they split up. The quieter thief and ranger forged ahead while the bulky lumbering chamber pots were left behind.

The thief and ranger eventually, nearing the kitchen, came across some guards beating the @#$#@ out of Belgrim and taking him around the corner muttering that Bozal will want to 'discuss' your continued impertinance... A sound of grating stone accompanied this threat and suddenly the dwarf and accosters disappeared. The raqnger went back to get the others and what followed was a series of cat and mouse between the party and the guards as they made their way towards the secret door.

The thief made short work on the secret door and the party ventured into a hidden area beneath the games. They encountered store rooms and used living areas, some worms infested sausage meat, some huge piles of coinage, some cells where a worm-tale-babbling Belgrim was contained, a large black dome of evil, more wine and vinegar barrels, and oohh did I mention the black dome of evil ???

The mage tried to use some mental arcana checks on the dome and was psychicly assaulted !!! After removing themsleves from the presence of the black dome of evil, the thief found a secret door in 1 of the store rooms. Even as it was opened, his senses were assaulted by the smell of living death. He did see that this lead down to another door. As he made his way down ELITE GLYPH OF WARDING !!!!! exploded amongst the party roasting them with necrotic damage not once but twice !!! Chastising the thief on his inability to do his job, the party more cautiously approached the door below.
